What is Hypnotherapy

What to Expect

During your first hypnotherapy appointment, I will explain the process of hypnosis and its clinical uses. The session will then focus on discussing why you're seeking hypnosis, your desired outcomes, and treatment goals.

If necessary, I will suggest a brief hypnosis demonstration to assess your willingness to accept the power of suggestion, which is what makes hypnosis work. This would require me to talk you through relaxation and leading you to a heightened state of awareness.

By achieving a heightened state of awareness, you may experience changes in perception. Additionally, while in this trance-like state, the following benefits may occur:

  • Increased response to suggestion: You become more likely to follow suggestions given by the hypnotherapist, which are connected to your goals.

As the session comes to an end, I will bring you out of the trance-like state or ask you to return from it. You may have limited awareness of the session or feel like time passed quickly.

In hypnotherapy, mental imagery is utilized to help you imagine the root of the problem and work towards resolving it. I will prompt you to visualize and use your imagination during a focused state of attention.


During the trance-like state, I will provide suggestions that align with your goals and vision. For example, if the aim is to improve self-esteem, I  may offer encouraging and optimistic thoughts to boost confidence.

Unconscious mind exploration:

Hypnotherapy recognizes the conscious mind as a critic that may hinder valuable information from being expressed. By accessing the unconscious mind, you can explore underlying issues and motivations related to your problem. This understanding allows for the identification of more helpful solutions.
